“To me Talbot House defines the very best of what it is to be Mancunian. Bernie, Fran and the whole team keep families who need their help at the heart of everything they do. Since 1976 they don’t tell those who head to Talbot House how something can’t be done – they comfort them with a resounding message of support that the right outcome will be achieved, no matter the challenge.
Their innovation and determination is matched only by their compassion to see that learning disabled people with complex needs and their families know they are not alone. In my capacity as Manchester City Council’s Executive Member for Health and Care, I have the privilege of working with the city’s entire VCSE sector in relation to health, and of them all this is the organisation which inspires my believe in our city the most.
